Coefficients of Differentially Algebraic Series

Abstract

An Einstein-like criterion is proved for power series with algebraic coefficients satisfying algebraic differential equations of a certain general kind. The proof is elementary and the result extends earlier results of Hurwitz, Pólya and Popken.
