Quasi-Fuchsian Surfaces in Hyperbolic Knot Complements

Abstract
Examples of hyperbolic knots in S3 are given such that their complements contain quasi-Fuchsian non-Fuchsian surfaces. In particular, this proves that there are hyperbolic knots that are not totoidally alternating.
