Bounds for the Separation of Real Zeros of Polynomials

Abstract

We measure the separation of the zeros of the polynomial f(x) = Õ1n(x - a), a1 < a2 < ... < an by d(f) = mini(ai + 1 - ai). We establish a bound for the amount by which the ratio d(f¢- kf)/d(f) exceeds 1.
